Pilgrim

This month's theme is a close neighbor of adventure... Pilgrim. Perfect for Thanksgiving and beyond... what are the connotations of not only the folks that came from Europe to the Americas, but also modern people taking pilgrimages? What does it mean to be a pilgrim?

New theme

It is time for a new theme. I am still wraggling with adventure (making up new words as I go), but know that it is time to change topics. I suppose it is my turn, but am interested in speaking with T about it (even through this blog format...)

Taking the Leap

 

In the Beginning

In the beginning, KD and I displayed our works on the wall at the house we shared.  As we both move onto new adventures the wall will be taken down this month.  To ensure that it will not be forgotten and to simplify my own life, taken pictures of the wall is the best way I know to preserve it. 

adventures through the door

A friend came by the Town Office yesterday afternoon and was excited to tell me her view on adventure.  It created such a great image in my mind. 

"Adventure is a door opening and you can only open one door at time."

This evokes an "Alice Wonderland" image in my mind.  When Alice drank the liquid labeled "Drink Me" and had to choose the door to go through.  She then opened one that allowed her to go into Wonderland.

For A., she saw a forest with a door floating in it.  No frame or structure, just a door.  When you went through this door, you would be in another land. 

At this junction, I truly feel like I am going through a door in one forest and going into a new one.  Taking time to examine what I want to take with me through that door and intentionally leaving behind other items.  Standing at the threshold.

Adventure to the ocean

Sometimes it is just a $2 bus ride away. Sometimes it is sunny at home, and cold and foggy at the destination.
